Heartworm Prevention – Wealthy Street Animal Hospital
We asked Linda Coffman from Wealthy Street Animal Hospital about heartworm prevention. Here is some great information that will help keep your pet safe!
“Come springtime, everyone starts to think about heartworm prevention, but did you know both dogs and cats should be on heartworm prevention all year round? Heartworm prevention helps prevent infection by heartworms, which are spread by mosquitoes; but also help protect against intestinal parasites, that are in the soil year round. So if your pet isn’t currently on heartworm prevention, make sure to visit your vet for protection and while you are there, pick up your flea and tick prevention too. Keep your pets and your family safe.”
