Dog of the Week -Tula
Tula is a Bernese Mountain Dog who celebrated her first birthday in March of this year. If you’re ever to pass this dog on the sidewalk you will experience the love Tula has for people, all people. She loves to receive love and will always invite you to do so! Her smiling face tempts you and once you start petting her entire back half, not just her tail, wiggles uncontrollably. While her butt wiggles she’ll lean in and throw her weight against you. It’s the Tula way of saying “oh yes, that’s the spot!” Though her love for humans is strong, her admiration of cats is none. In fact, Tula’s nightmare is a feline encounter. During a walk we wandered past a cat laying in the garden and Tula barked and whined. She spent all her effort putting distance between her and that cat. I’ve seen lots of dogs try to chase cats, but not many try and run from them. She is not only a kind lady, but a smart one. “Drop it” is one command she’s grown especially good at. Tula has a curious appetite, as many dogs do. I’ve caught her putting everything from a Dixie cup to a deflated balloon in her mouth. I promptly get a treat in front of her face and say “drop it!” and she spits out whatever object she finds immediately. Nothing is as delicious as the meaty treats from NDGR! It’s a great pleasure to walk this loving giant. Good girl Tula! -Kailey (Nature of the Dog -GR Dog Walker)
