Dog of the Week -Billie
This week we would like to introduce you to a sweet little lady named Billie. I will always remember the first day I walked her because of how surprised I was when I first arrived. I heard a few excited barks and thought to myself, “this is going to be a very big dog!” When I opened the door, instead of the large dog I was expecting, I found a very excited, very friendly little Basset Hound who didn’t even reach my knee! While we are walking she likes to take her time and make sure she can thoroughly check out as many smells as possible, especially after it rains. Even though slow and steady wins the race may be her motto she has some quite impressive speed. Should we come across squirrels, other dogs or people she will kick it into high gear to try and catch up. After each of our walks we head out to the backyard for playtime with her sister Birdie. While she can’t exactly keep up with her sister, who is a German Shepherd, Billie will still join in the occasional game of fetch in between inspecting the plants in the yard and relaxing in the sun. She is certainly one of a kind and I look forward to getting to know this wonderful girl more! -Kym (Nature of the Dog – GR Dog Walker)
